The 11th Wing is an operational unit within the United States Air Force (USAF). It is one of four operational wings under the Air Combat Command and stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The primary mission of the 11st Wing includes air defense, rapid response to crises around the world, and providing combat-ready forces in support of joint operations. The wing comprises various squadrons with different specializations such as fighter, bomb, tanker, helicopter, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance units. Its aircraft fleet primarily consists of F-22 Raptors and E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS). Throughout its history, the 11th Wing has been involved in significant events such as the Cold War, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
