Description A shield with the following blazon: Or, a chevron Gules between a statant grizzly bear in chief and a rampant beaver in base, both Proper, with a mullet of the second in the dexter chief. Attached below and to the sides of the shield is a tripartite scroll inscribed "FORT ET LOYAL" in red letters.

Symbolism The yellow shield represents Cavalry, while the red chevron signifies the unit’s service as Artillery. The bear and red star are derived from the historic California flag, and the beaver comes from the old seal of New Netherlands, symbolizing the regiment’s origins in California and its current location in New York. The motto translates to "Strong and Loyal."

Background The distinctive unit insignia was approved on June 18, 1925.
