Description/Blazon
A shield blazoned: Gules, a pile fesswise throughout Or; on a quarter Azure, an augmented pale Sanguine bearing in chief a mullet and in base a gopher sejant of the second. Attached below and to the sides of the shield is a gold scroll inscribed "VIKING VANGUARD" in black letters.

Symbolism
The red shield represents Artillery, with the pile symbolizing a searchlight beam and referencing the Regiment’s antiaircraft operations. The quarter is derived from the coat of arms of the 205th Infantry Regiment, Minnesota Army National Guard, the precursor organization to the 215th Coast Artillery.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 215th Coast Artillery Regiment on February 9, 1942. It was redesignated for the 94th Cavalry Regiment on September 20, 1963, and amended to change the motto on June 26, 1964. It was redesignated for the 94th Armor Regiment on February 20, 1973, and later redesignated for the 94th Cavalry Regiment on September 4, 2008.
