Description:

A silver-colored metal and enamel device, featuring a shield with the following blazon: Azure, a saber and quill crossed in saltire Argent, hilted Or, all within a bordure Gules. Attached above the shield is a blue scroll inscribed "SOLDIERING," and below the shield, a blue scroll inscribed "STARTS HERE," both in silver letters.

Symbolism:

Dark blue and scarlet are the traditional colors of The Adjutant General's Corps, with scarlet also representing Field Artillery. The 1883 Field Artillery noncommissioned officer’s short saber highlights the unit's connection to Field Artillery and reflects the soldier’s warrior spirit. The quill symbolizes the administrative mission of The Adjutant General's Corps. Together, the crossed saber and quill represent the unity of the warrior spirit with the unit's administrative duties.

Background:

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on August 25, 1987.
