Brigadier General Elisha S. Bragg was a high-ranking officer during the American Civil War, serving primarily with the 6th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. Born in 1833 and raised on a farm in Wisconsin, Bragg joined the military at age 24 and demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities from an early stage. During his four years of service, he participated in significant battles such as Shiloh, Perryville, Stones River, Chickamauga, and Missionary Ridge. After the war, Bragg returned to civilian life but continued his association with military institutions, serving as a state militia officer until his death in 1908. His military career and service during the Civil War remain an important part of American military history.
