The Cabin John Bridge is a significant structure located near the Washington, D.C. boundary in the U.S. state of Maryland. Originally built in 1938 and rehabilitated in 2007, this bridge spans over Cabin John Creek, connecting Bethesda and Potomac. During the American Civil War (1861-1865), the area around the Cabin John Bridge was significant due to its strategic location near the Potomac River and the nearby Seneca Aqueduct of the C&O Canal. The bridge, however, was constructed much later in the 20th century. The bridge serves as a vital transportation route for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians, connecting the communities on either side of Cabin John Creek. Despite its modern usage, the historical context surrounding its geographical location remains an important part of local history.
