Symbolism

The taro leaf symbolizes the 25th Division's lineage from the Hawaiian Division, while the lightning flash represents the Division's swift execution of its missions.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized on 25 September 1944. It was amended on 29 March 2012 to permit the 4th Brigade Combat Team to wear the airborne tab.
