Description/Blazon
A yellow shield featuring a smaller shield divided horizontally by a gold lightning flash, scarlet above and white below. Surmounting this is a yellow sheathed cavalry saber in bendwise position with the hilt to base, all enclosed by an orle of eight black mullets. The entire device is bordered by a black border.

Symbolism
The shield shape signifies defense and protection of the United States. The black color and eight stars represent the Eighth Tank Destroyer Group, the unit’s predecessor. The gold lightning flash symbolizes speed, mobility, and effectiveness, reflecting the combined forces with which the Brigade operates. The yellow saber represents Cavalry missions and operations. Scarlet and white denote Cavalry, while gold (yellow) signifies excellence.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on November 14, 2008.
