The 322nd Cavalry Regiment is a cavalry regiment within the United States Army. Originally formed during World War I, it has seen service in various conflicts and peacetime assignments throughout its history. The regiment was initially activated in May 1917 as the 322nd Machine Gun Squadron. After World War I, it was reorganized and redesignated multiple times before assuming its current form in 1956. Throughout its history, the 322nd Cavalry Regiment has been known for its expertise in reconnaissance, security, and mobility operations. It is currently under the command of the U.S. Army's 4th Infantry Division (Airborne).
