5th Infantry Regiment (U.S. Army) Tumbler 20oz

The 5th Infantry Regiment is a unit within the United States Army, traceable back to the early days of the American Revolutionary War. Officially established on July 31, 1755, as the 6th Battalion of Grenadiers and Light Infantry, it has since seen active service in numerous conflicts including the American Revolution, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The regiment's nickname is "Cannon Cocks" or more formally, the "5th U.S. Infantry." Its mission encompasses conducting full spectrum operations to seize, retain, and exploit terrain, as well as protect the civilian population, ensuring security, and stability in a given area of operation. The regiment is currently part of the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.
