The 65th Infantry Regiment is a unit within the United States Army that has served since World War II. Originally established as the Puerto Rico National Guard, it was Federalized and integrated into the U.S. Army on March 2, 1943. Known as the "Borinqueneers," the regiment has a rich history of service, having participated in significant conflicts such as World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Global War on Terrorism. The 65th Infantry Regiment was deactivated on May 31, 2005, but efforts are ongoing to restore its active status. The unit's legacy is celebrated for its loyalty, courage, and significant contributions to the U.S. military.
