The 68th Infantry Regiment is a United States Army infantry unit that was first organized during World War I in 1917. It served actively from 1917 to 1944, and then as part of the Organized Reserve from 1944 until it was deactivated in 1963. The regiment saw significant action during World War I, particularly in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, and in World War II, including the Invasion of Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Rhineland campaign. Notably, the 68th Infantry Regiment was composed primarily of soldiers from Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The unit was reorganized in 1985 as part of the United States Army Reserve.
