The Coat of Arms of Hungary for the years 1957 to 1990 represents a significant period in Hungarian heraldry. It was introduced following the Soviet occupation and subsequent communist rule that ended the Hungarian Kingdom. This coat of arms features the traditional shield divided into three parts: red, white, and green from left to right, symbolizing the Three Nations of Hungary (Magyars, Székelys, and Slavers). In the center, a golden maple leaf is depicted, replacing the coronet, as a symbol of the People's Republic of Hungary. The shield is held by two armored lions, an iconic element from earlier coats of arms, and is placed above a scroll inscribed with the motto "Egyetérben az ország minden nemzedéke" which translates to 'Together with the country, every generation'. This coat of arms was used during Hungary's socialist era until its transition to democracy in 1990.
