The Flag of Norfolk is a banner of arms that serves as the traditional emblem for the English county of Norfolk. Officially recognized but not legally required to be used, it has been in continuous use since its granting by King Charles I in 1625. The design features three gold boars' heads and three green fesses (horizontal bands) on a light blue field. Each of the boar's heads represents one of the historic boroughs within Norfolk: Great Yarmouth, King's Lynn, and Northampton (a medieval error, as it is not part of Norfolk). The green fesses symbolize the three historical hundreds of Norfolk: West, East, and North. The flag serves as a potent symbol of Norfolk's history, culture, and identity within England.
