The Flag of Ottawa, used from 1902 to 1987, was a significant civic flag representing the capital city of Canada, Ottawa. This flag was distinctively divided into four quadrants: the upper hoist and fly were red, while the lower hoist and fly were white. In the center, there was an emblem that depicted a shield with a maple leaf at its heart. The shield was divided into four sections, each containing a different symbol: fleur-de-lis (representing France), the rose of England (symbolizing England), the thistle (for Scotland), and the shamrock (as a nod to Ireland). This flag was replaced by the current City of Ottawa flag in 1987.
