The Korean Communications Zone (KCZ) refers to a region within the Korean Peninsula that was under the administrative control of the United States Army during the Korean War (1950-1953). Established in July 1950, the KCZ aimed to improve communication infrastructure and operations between the United Nations Command (UNC) and its forces. It extended southward from Seoul along the east coast and included key cities such as Pusan and Taegu. The zone was critical for coordinating military operations, managing logistics, and facilitating diplomatic efforts during this period of armed conflict. After the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953, the KCZ was gradually dismantled as control was returned to the Republic of Korea (ROK) authorities. The legacy of the KCZ remains significant in understanding the historical context and cooperation between military forces during the Korean War era.
