The Reverse of the Coat of Arms of Chile, dating from 1812 to 1814, represents a significant historical emblem used during the Patria Vieja period. This reverse design features an escutcheon (shield) supported by two lions and surmounted by a crown, symbolizing authority. The central element is a banner bearing the phrase "La Union Makes Us Strong," reflecting the importance of unity during this formative stage of Chilean nationhood. In the bottom left corner, an olive branch and a sheaf of arrows signify peace and war readiness, respectively. This reverse design was subsequently replaced by the current Coat of Arms of Chile, which has been in use since 1842.
