The Soyuz TMA-13M was a spacecraft mission that belonged to the Soyuz Programme, a human-rated Russian spacecraft series. Launched on March 27, 2014, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, it transported three crew members: Captain Alexander Skvortsov of Roscosmos, Koichi Wakata of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency), and Richard Mastracchio of NASA. The primary objective of this mission was to transport the crew to the International Space Station (ISS) for a long-duration stay, where they spent 186 days in orbit before returning safely on September 11, 2014. This spacecraft utilized the Soyuz FG carrier rocket and was the third flight of the TMA-M series of vehicles. The mission marked the successful continuation of manned spaceflights under the Soyuz programme, a testament to its reliability and effectiveness as a space transportation system for both Russia and international partners.
