Background
The distinctive unit insignia was initially approved for the 32d Armored Regiment on December 12, 1941. It was redesignated for the 32d Medium Tank Battalion on October 26, 1949, and again for the 32d Tank Battalion on March 30, 1956. The insignia was redesignated for the 32d Armor Regiment on August 18, 1958, and later for the 32d Cavalry Regiment effective June 28, 2005.
