The Flag of South Kalimantan, Indonesia, is a rectangular banner with proportions 2:3 (length to width ratio). It consists of three horizontal stripes, each of which represents one of the three main regions in South Kalimantan. The top stripe is red and symbolizes the highlands. The middle green stripe signifies the forests, while the bottom white stripe represents the coastline and rivers. A golden crescent moon, positioned at the hoist side (the left if viewed from the flagpole), completes the design. This symbol represents Islam, which is the predominant religion in South Kalimantan. Adopted on May 12, 2003, the flag of South Kalimantan reflects the province's geography and cultural identity within Indonesia.
