The Special Operations Aviation Command (SOAC) is a component of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Its primary role is to provide aviation support for special operations forces (SOF) in various military operations, including airborne assault, infiltration, exfiltration, and air resupply. The SOAC operates an array of rotary-wing aircraft, such as the UH-60 Black Hawk, MH-47 Chinook, MH-6 Little Bird, and CH-47F Chinook. The command's mission is to enable special operations forces to achieve their objectives in both permissive and hostile environments by providing reliable air transport, reconnaissance, and direct fire support. It maintains a global presence, with numerous detachments and forward operating bases worldwide. The SOAC's motto is "Strike from the Sky."
