X Corps (U.S. Army) Frosted Pint Glass 16oz

The X Corps was a U.S. Army unit established during the Korean War in 1951. Initially formed as part of the I Corps, it served under the United Nations Command and was primarily responsible for the defense and development of the Pusan Perimeter area. The corps played a significant role in the Battle of Inchon and subsequent advance into North Korea before withdrawing to South Korea during the Chinese intervention. The X Corps was unique in that it combined both infantry and marine divisions, with the 1st Marine Division being its primary element. This combination aimed to leverage the strengths of both branches of the military for amphibious warfare and land operations. Despite being disbanded in 1955 following the end of the Korean War, the X Corps concept had a lasting impact on U.S. military strategy and planning, particularly in regards to joint and combined operations.
