X Corps was a United States Marine Corps corps formed during the Korean War in 1950. The corps, which consisted of three divisions, played a crucial role in the Inchon Landing and the subsequent recapture of Seoul. After the end of the Korean War, it was disbanded in 1954. During its existence, X Corps demonstrated its adaptability to both amphibious assaults and land warfare, showcasing the versatility of the U.S. Marine Corps. The corps included various units from different branches of the U.S. military and was under the operational control of the Eighth United States Army. It served as a model for future combined-arms units in the United States Armed Forces.
