The 10 Cavalry Regiment is a military unit within the United States Army, specialized in cavalry operations. Established on August 24, 1866, during the American Civil War, it is one of the oldest and most decorated cavalry regiments in the U.S. Army. Throughout its history, it has seen numerous conflicts, including the Indian Wars, the Mexican Border War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom among others. The regiment's primary role is reconnaissance, security, and combat support, with its headquarters stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. The 10 Cavalry Regiment is a part of the U.S. Army's First Cavalry Division.
