Symbolism

The blue and white colors represent the unit's origins in the 183rd Infantry. Background

The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 183rd Infantry Regiment on October 10, 1986. It was redesignated for the 183rd Regiment on May 5, 1997, and later for the 183rd Cavalry Regiment on June 1, 2006. The symbolism was amended on July 14, 2023.
