The 193rd Special Operations Wing (193 SOW) is a unit of the United States Air Force (USAF). It falls under the Air Combat Command and is headquartered at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The wing primarily focuses on providing specialized airpower for special operations forces through its components, which include the 24th Special Operations Squadron, 25th Special Operations Group, 720th Special Tactics Group, and 96th Special Operations Wing. The mission of the 193 SOW is to conduct specialized airborne infiltration, extraction, and resupply operations, as well as close air support, psychological operations, combat search and rescue, and special reconnaissance missions. The wing's aircraft fleet primarily consists of MC-130H Combat Talons and AC-130U Spooky II gunships. The 193 SOW has been actively involved in various military operations such as Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom, among others.
