Description
A shield blazoned: Per fess, Azure and Argent, with a gauntlet Proper. Below the shield is a blue scroll turned gold, inscribed "SEMPER PARATUS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The armor gauntlet symbolizes combat readiness, honor, and the Regiment's distinguished service. The shield's division per fess represents the boundary line between Wisconsin and Illinois, with blue and white reflecting the respective state flags. The motto translates to "Always Ready."

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved for the 320th Cavalry Regiment on March 14, 1925, and was amended to correct the description on April 21, 1925. It was rescinded on March 2, 1959.
