Symbolism
The blue represents Infantry. The horizontal band, resembling both a dome and a water symbol, references the U.S. Capitol and the Potomac River. Together with the stars symbolizing the three branches of government, it represents the District of Columbia, home of the 380th Infantry. The powder horn signifies readiness and vigilance and reflects the unit's colonial heritage. The motto translates to "God Defends the Right."
