Brandy Station is a historic site located in Virginia, United States. During the U.S. Civil War, it served as the winter quarters for scouts and guides of the Army of the Potomac from 1863 to 1864. The area is notable for being the site of one of the largest cavalry battles during the Civil War, which took place on June 9, 1863. This conflict, known as the Battle of Brandy Station, was the first major cavalry battle in the Eastern Theater and remains the largest engagement between Union and Confederate cavalry throughout the entire war. Today, Brandy Station is recognized for its significant historical value and is protected within the Culpeper National Battlefield Park.
