Flag of Indre France The Flag of Indre France is a regional flag representing the department of Indre in central France. The department, named after the river Indre, was one of the 83 departments created during the French Revolution in 1790. The flag of Indre France features a white background divided into four quarters by two diagonal stripes – one blue and the other red – starting from the lower left corner and ending at the upper right corner. In the center, there is a yellow (or golden) five-pointed star. The colors and design elements on the flag have symbolic meanings: the white color represents peace, while the blue and red diagonal stripes stand for the courage and resilience of the people. The star in the center symbolizes the department's central location in France and its status as a 'département libre', meaning it was liberated from the German occupation during World War II. Today, the Flag of Indre France serves as an emblem of regional pride for the residents of the department and is often displayed during local events and celebrations.
