The Flag of Kedah, a Malaysian state located on the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is a rectangular banner divided into two horizontal sections. The upper section, occupying two-thirds of the flag's height, is dark blue (representing the royalty of the Sultanate of Kedah), while the lower section is white. In the center of the white section lies a red stripe, extending from the left to three-fourths of the width. This design symbolizes the unity and harmony between the ruler (the blue section) and the people (the white section). The flag was officially adopted on August 31, 1963, following Malaysia's independence in 1957.
