Soyuz MS-01 (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz MS-01 was a manned space flight mission launched as part of the Soyuz Programme, a Russian human spaceflight program. This specific mission marked the 58th mission to the International Space Station (ISS). It was carried out by Roscosmos, the Russian federal space agency, and launched on April 7, 2016, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The Soyuz MS-01 crew consisted of Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Andrey Borisenko, and American astronaut Shane Kimbrough who served as the Expedition 47/48 flight engineers. This mission marked the 200th human spaceflight by a Russian cosmonaut. The Soyuz MS-01 spacecraft successfully docked with the ISS on April 9, and the crew returned to Earth safely on October 30, 2016, landing in the steppe of Kazakhstan.
