The 1 Information Operations Battalion (1IOB) is a unit within the United States Army that specializes in information operations (IO). IO encompasses activities conducted to influence, disrupt, corrupt, or usurp the decision-making process of adversaries and potential adversaries while protecting friendly forces' information and information systems. The 1IOB is responsible for conducting electronic warfare (EW), psychological operations (PSYOP), military deception, and computer network operations (CNO) to support Army and joint forces in achieving their mission objectives. The battalion is stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and falls under the command of the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade.
