The 104th Infantry is a historic infantry unit within the United States Army that has seen active service during various conflicts throughout its history. Originally formed in 1917, it was an element of the National Guard and participated in World War I as part of the 26th Division. After World War I, the unit was reorganized and saw action during the Korean War within the 40th Infantry Division. In 1963, the 104th Infantry was deactivated but later reactivated in 1985 as a part of the Tennessee Army National Guard. The 104th Infantry has earned numerous accolades for its service, including two Distinguished Unit Citations and the Presidential Unit Citation. Today, the unit is headquartered in Clarksville, Tennessee, and remains an integral part of the U.S. Army National Guard.
