The 10th Armored Division is a formation of the United States Army, originally active during World War II and reactivated as a National Guard division in 2014. Initially formed in October 1942 at Camp Polk, Louisiana, it served on both the Western Front (Normandy) and Eastern Front (Siege of Bastogne), demonstrating exceptional bravery and resilience throughout its service during World War II. The division was equipped with M4 Sherman tanks, playing a crucial role in various battles such as the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Post-WWII, it was deactivated in 1957 but redesignated as an element of the Michigan Army National Guard in 2014, maintaining its historic lineage. The current 10th Armored Division has units across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
