Description/Blazon
A shield blazoned: Per fess Gules and Argent, with a lion passant Or in chief and a kris and kampilan crossed saltirewise in base, Sable fimbriated Or. Attached below and to the left of the shield is a gold scroll inscribed "TOUS POUR UN" in red letters, and attached below and to the right of the shield is a gold scroll inscribed "UN POUR TOUS" in red letters.
Symbolism
The red and white divided shield represents the traditional Cavalry guidon. The crossed kris and kampilan swords symbolize the regiment's engagement in the Moro and Lake Lanao campaigns in the Philippines. The golden lion is taken from the arms of Bordeaux, France, where the regiment served during the war with Germany. The motto, "All for one, one for all," reflects the unity and spirit that has defined the regiment.
Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 15th Cavalry on April 6, 1935. It was redesignated for the 15th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Mechanized, on November 10, 1944, and for the 15th Constabulary Squadron on January 21, 1948. The insignia was further redesignated for the 15th Cavalry on November 28, 1958, and for the 15th Armor on November 13, 1963. It was redesignated again for the 15th Cavalry on August 2, 1968, with the description amended on October 4, 2002.
