The 26th Infantry Division, part of the United States Army, is a combined arms formation that originated during World War I. It was activated on July 17, 1917, and has been deployed in various conflicts since its inception. The division is also known for its service during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
