The 27th Special Operations Wing (AFSOC) is a United States Air Force unit stationed at Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico. Established in 1980, the wing is part of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), responsible for conducting special operations missions worldwide using aircraft such as the MC-130 Combat Talon II and HC-130J Combat King II. The primary mission of the 27th SOW is to deliver personnel, equipment, and supplies by air into hostile or denied areas in support of U.S. forces and allies. The wing also performs airlift, aerial refueling, and medical evacuation missions as required. The 27th SOW's motto is "To the field, we go!"
