The 49th Armored Division is a historical military unit of the United States Army, primarily active during World War II. It was officially activated on February 15, 1943, and disbanded in 1946 after the end of World War II. The unit's motto was "Semper Vi et Vigilant" which translates to "Always with Force and Vigilance." The 49th Armored Division is a significant part of U.S. military history, contributing to the Allied victory in World War II. However, it does not exist as an active unit within the modern United States Army.
