Description:

A sheaf of four gold arrows pointing upwards, with the spaces between the shafts in blue. Above the arrows, a gold scroll with black letters displays the motto "VIGILANT AND READY." Flanking the scroll are two red fleurs-de-lis bordered with a broad gold edge.

Symbolism:

The four upright arrows on a blue field symbolize air defense readiness and also reference the four campaign credits awarded during World War II. The two fleurs-de-lis represent the major areas of participation, namely France and the Rhineland.

Background:

The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 52d Artillery Brigade on December 9, 1966. It was redesignated for the 52d Air Defense Artillery Brigade on April 6, 1972.
