The 5th Artillery Regiment is a unit of the United States Army responsible for providing long-range fire support to ground forces. Established on July 31, 1861, during the American Civil War, this regiment has a rich history that includes serving in various conflicts, such as the Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, and operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
