The Aviation Systems Command (ASC) is a former major organizational unit within the United States Army focused on aviation operations and maintenance. Established in 1983 as part of an Army reorganization, it merged various aviation units under one command for improved efficiency and coordination. The ASC oversaw the operation, maintenance, and training of a diverse fleet of aircraft, including utility helicopters, attack helicopters, transport helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft. It also managed the Army's aviation logistics, standardization, evaluation, and research & development activities.
