Bealeton, Virginia refers to a small town located in Fauquier County. During the U.S. Civil War, it gained significance due to its proximity to the Manassas Gap Railroad and the Battle of Second Manassas, fought nearby in 1862. The title 'Company K, 93rd New York Infantry (U.S. Civil War)' pertains to one of the military units that took part in the conflict. Established in 1864, the 93rd New York Infantry was a regiment of the Union Army during the Civil War. Company K was one of ten companies within this regiment and saw action in various battles, including the Battle of Cedar Creek in October 1864 near Bealeton. The company, like its parent unit, was mustered out of service on June 20, 1865, following the end of the Civil War.
