I Field Force Vietnam (US Army) I Field Force Vietnam (I FFV) was a United States Army field force established during the Vietnam War, operating under the command of Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG). Its primary role was to oversee the coordination and supervision of all U.S. combat units in the II Corps area, which covered central South Vietnam. The force also provided advisory support to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and was instrumental in conducting combined operations with ARVN units during various military campaigns. I FFV's existence spanned from 1965 until 1973, contributing significantly to the strategic planning and tactical execution of U.S. military efforts within South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
