The Ordnance Missile Command (OMC) is a former United States Army field command responsible for overseeing the storage, handling, maintenance, and supply of missiles and related equipment. Established on July 16, 1957, following the creation of the U.S. Army Ballistic Missile Agency (ABMA), it was headquartered in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The OMC managed various ballistic and cruise missile systems, including the Pershing, Patriot, and Tomahawk missiles, during its operational tenure. It was disestablished on June 30, 1992, and its functions were merged with those of the Army Materiel Command (AMC). The Ordnance Missile Command played a crucial role in ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of U.S. missile forces during the Cold War era and beyond.
