Soyuz 36 (Soyuz Space Programme) The Soyuz 36 was a mission under the Soyuz space program, a human spaceflight program developed by the Soviet Union (later becoming Russia). This particular mission marked the 47th flight of the Soyuz spacecraft. Launched on April 28, 1980, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, it was part of a long-duration expedition to the Soviet Union's orbital research station, Salyut 6. The primary crew aboard Soyuz T-3 consisted of veteran cosmonauts Vasili Lazarev and Oleg Makarov, who docked with Salyut 6 upon arrival and remained on board for an extended stay until their return to Earth on September 28, 1980. The mission was significant as it contributed to the expansion of human knowledge in various scientific fields, such as space biology and materials science, while also playing a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of long-duration manned spaceflight.
