The Soyuz MS-04 is a manned spacecraft, part of the Soyuz Programme, which is a Russian human spaceflight program. Launched on April 20, 2017, from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Soyuz MS-04 was the 131st mission to carry crew members to and from the International Space Station (ISS). It was also the 140th flight of a Soyuz spacecraft since its inception. The Soyuz MS (Modernized) series, like Soyuz MS-04, includes improved life support systems, enhanced telemetry capabilities, and updated avionics for safer and more efficient space travel. The mission carried three crew members: Fyodor Yurchikhin of Roscosmos, Jack Fischer of NASA, and Peggy Whitson of NASA who served as ISS commander during the mission.
