Soyuz MS-15 (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz MS-15 is a spaceflight mission that falls under the broader Soyuz Program, which has been operational since 1967. This particular mission marked the 62nd manned flight of the Soyuz spacecraft and was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on August 28, 2019. The primary objective of the Soyuz MS-15 mission was to carry a crew of three astronauts—Anatoly Ivanishin (Commander), Ivan Vagner (Flight Engineer), and Christopher Cassidy (Flight Engineer) from NASA—to the International Space Station (ISS). After approximately six hours in space, they successfully docked with the ISS on August 29. The mission lasted nearly six months until April 17, 2020, when the astronauts returned to Earth safely aboard Soyuz MS-15 after undocking from the ISS and landing in Kazakhstan. This marked the end of their 196-day stay on the ISS.
