Soyuz TMA-18 (Soyuz Program) The Soyuz TMA-18 was a crewed spaceflight mission to the International Space Station (ISS), part of the broader Soyuz program operated by Roscosmos, the Russian federal space agency. Launched on June 20, 2010, it carried three astronauts: Timothy Creamer, Michael Fincke, and Greg Chamitoff from NASA, and Sergei Volkov of Roscosmos. The mission marked the 37th visit to the ISS by a Soyuz spacecraft and the 120th human spaceflight mission by the Soviet Union or Russia since the launch of Yuri Gagarin in 1961. The Soyuz TMA-18 docked with the ISS on June 22, 2010, where it remained for approximately six months until its departure on December 16, 2010. The mission concluded with a safe landing back on Earth in Kazakhstan on December 17, 2010. The Soyuz program, initiated by the Soviet Union, continues to be an essential means of transporting crew members and cargo to the ISS.
