The 143rd Infantry Regiment is a military unit within the United States Army. It was originally constituted on March 2, 1913, in the National Guard of New York and organized at Rochester, New York, on July 28, 1916. Throughout its history, it has seen active service during World War I, where it fought in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensives; World War II, where it was part of the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge; and more recently in the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. The regiment is currently part of the 36th Infantry Division, with its headquarters located at Rochester, New York.
